Hall of Fame Nomination Form

Background

The Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 1998 to honor exceptional MCTC alumni. Alumni Hall of Fame awards are extended to alumni in recognition of their professional achievements, personal accomplishments, as well as their service to their communities and society.

Each year the Alumni Advisory Committee considers nominees and will select up to four new inductees. The inductees will receive a plaque with their photo and biography. A second, identical plaque will be permanently placed in the MCTC's T Building.

How you can help?

Please take a few moments to reflect on your friends, former students and colleagues who are MCTC alumni. Many of MCTC's fine alumni have changed lives in unexpected ways. Most do so quietly, with little recognition. Help us to honor their accomplishments by nominating someone now.

Criteria and evaluation categories

There are two award categories: “Distinguished Alumni Award” and “Emerging Leader Award.” To be eligible to receive the “Distinguished Alumni Award” nominees must have graduated/transferred from MCTC (Formerly Minneapolis Community College, Minneapolis Technical College or its predecessor institutions) more than 10 years ago from the date of the nomination. The “Emerging Leader Award” nominees can be eligible only after they have graduated/transferred 1 to 10 years ago from the date of nomination. Nominees for either award must have completed a certificate, diploma or degree program or they transferred with a minimum of 36 semester credits from MCTC or its predecessor institutions. Additionally, all nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Professional awards and honors, professional affiliations, publications
  • Civic and community involvement
  • Other appropriate qualifications which merit consideration

*If you are unsure of the nominee’s graduation/transfer date and/or number of credits taken, you can still complete the nomination form. The Alumni Office will complete that information.

Nominations are accepted year round. The Alumni Advisory Committee will review completed nominations by April 1st of each year. Inductees will be personally notified in May.

Following the receipt of a completed nomination form we will contact the nominee to determine their willingness to participate in the selection process. If they agree, we then ask that they submit information detailing their accomplishments. However, when completing the nomination form please, be as detailed as you can.
